Mass-rename access points (instead of renumbering)
Give the possibility to change naming standard on all AP's at once.
Right now you need to change it on every AP individually, then reorganize numbers.
Maybe replace the "Reorganize numbers"-option under Project Settings with a "Rename Access Points" menu, where you can set which access points to rename and write which naming standard to use.

Joel Crane Admin PinnedRuben, this should be possible today. You can bulk-select all of the access points on a map, and then set up the new naming convention (using variables). You will need to run the "Renumber" option, but you can do that before or after you change the naming convention. Here's the details of how to do it:

Jan Reister PinnedThis feature request should be "Multi-floor mass rename APs". Most of the request has been fulfilled on a per-floor basis. I just miss the ability to manipulate all the APs across the project.

Andreas Koksrud+1 to this, and if you can add an option to restart renumbering inside each floor it would be nice :)
Floor 1: AP101, AP102, AP103, etc
Floor 2: AP201, AP202, AP203, etc
Not every project needs this, but some do and then we would like to have the possibility.
And link this feature request with the one wanting AP name-lock as well, to make some (or all) APs not re-numbered by the "auto renumbering" function. -

Tobias JönssonIt would also be very nice to be able to change how the accesspoints are sorted. Perhaps I would like to group them differently depending on different models or departments of a building

Charles ClareHaving a really good AP naming policy can make you life a breeze when searching and selecting. I find it vital to have building/floor/room info in the name so auto numbering a floor like B112-1-F4-{xx} were xx is a number starting at 1 but better having variable line B{building}-{floor}-{xx} would be great. When you have 4000+ access points AP naming is critical for fast sorting and finding.. especially on CISCO

LanceSimilarly, name APs by MDF/IDF, or set a prefix to a select number or group of APs. Perhaps by color, floor, switch/IDF etc
