I've spoken with the product management team about adding LoRa planning to Hamina Network Planner, and there is some interest in adding it. While they have not made a formal decision about it, it would be great to find out what things we need to consider:
- Which bands/channels?
- Which channel widths?
- What should the heatmap thresholds be (to me, green is "pass", yellow is "almost passing", red it "doesn't work", clear is "too quiet to even be heard")?
- What hardware/IoT gateways should we add?
Any extra details that we could get would be super helpful. I've been wanting to play with Meshtastic gear for awhile (but I have been hesitant since I am currently located in Europe and couldn't take any gear back to the US with me when I return), but have basically no familiarity with LoRa or LoRaWAN beyond that. -

Luca FocardiLora is becoming the new preferred network inside building for monitoring and helping the climate control system.

Falk BachmannI also got some requests if we could integrate that from the building automation and IoT vendors that have many issues with not adequate coverage in LoRA installations in the field.

Daniel MillarLoRaWAN is rapidly expanding across industries due to its long-range, low-power connectivity.
However, a major gap exists in indoor coverage mapping, making network planning challenging.
While tools like CloudRF support outdoor deployments, an indoor-specific solution is urgently needed. Adding LoRaWAN coverage mapping to Hamina Network Planner would fill this gap, attracting system integrators and IoT solution providers to your tool. This feature would support the growing demand for LoRaWAN across smart buildings, industrial automation, agriculture, and other critical applications. We strongly encourage its development on your platform. -

Syed Razin MergedIt would be really great if LoRaWAN and WirelessHART can be added in.
Please also add support for multi wireless mesh setup and wireless Star/Gateway based connectivity for these IoT technologies and WiFi -

Apu BarotAdding LoRaWAN and Wireless IoT products would be beneficial, as the tool supports all the frequency bands for LoRaWAN.

Andrew Chandler@joel_crane - I like the way you think! Looking at it from the Meshtastic point of view, the full LoRa spectrum of each regulatory domain should be covered, at least based on my interpretation of this reference -> https://meshtastic.org/docs/overview/radio-settings/ From a broader point of view, if the full spectrum in each domain is available, then multiple industries could benefit, as the LoRa technologies are fantastic (as are there long waves). If we look at the source of data that fuels AI, the majority comes from sensors, not humans. Proliferation of sensors will continue to grow, and LoRa is one of the technologies I see meeting that demand.
