An API to initiate import inventory from mist, match access points by name and export maps to mist will be of great use for me. -

Jake SnyderI need an API so I can leverage the placement, PHY and MAC layer data from Hamina into my automation workflows. It's really hard to deploy at scale without the ability to have programmatic access to my data.
Examples include: AP coordinates, height, rotation, mounting, channel, channel width, power.... -

ChristianBryan, out of curiosity, what kinds of features are you originally looking for in a REST API? It would be useful to explain why you need it, how you would use it, and/or what kind of functionality you would be expecting from the API to best meet your needs. Otherwise, you could get a REST API that doesn't solve your problem.
Mike, from your examples (AP coordinates, height, rotation, mounting, channel, channel width, power), are you looking to GET that information or POST / PUT / PATCH / DELETE that level of detail as well? And out of curiosity, what cloud-based tools are you trying to integrate Hamina with to create an automated workflow? -

MattI'd love to see an API that allows me to update the status of a deployed Access Point at a given location. ie;
- Hamina provides an online coverage map for a WiFi deployment (once i've setup and deployed the network, I retain a copy in Hamina)
- I programmatically update the power status of an AP in a location (based on an alert or event from a network monitoring system).
- The revised coverage map is displayed via the Hamina web interface.
Conceptually I want to be able to provide a live "digital twin" of an office showing coverage maps based on the availability or otherwise of deployed AP's. That way an employee in that office can visualize the impact of an AP going down (and move to the other end of the office for example). -

haydn AndrewsAPIs to extract the data to build fully customisable reports would also be nice

Gert-Jan de BoerAs a network consultant at aaZoo, I need programmatic API access to Hamina survey data to build proprietary AI-powered reporting tools that differentiate our services.
Current limitation: Built-in reports only; can't leverage our AI automation capabilities.
Required API functionality:
Retrieve survey data (measurements, AP placements, RF metrics, heatmaps)
Query subsets (RSSI, SNR, interference, coverage zones)
Export floor plans and measurement data (JSON/CSV)
Authentication via API keys/OAuth
Our use case: We're building AI-driven reporting that analyzes measurements and generates contextual insights. Example: Instead of generic "-68 dBm," our system states "Conference room at -68 dBm supports 25 video participants; enable band steering for peak performance."
Business value: API access enables competitive differentiation through automated, intelligent reporting while keeping our IP proprietary. We handle the AI layer; we just need data access. -

J.W. HannamAny movement on this one? With increasing amounts of automated work we're doing these days, this can only be beneficial for the whole community.

Joel Crane AdminHey J.W.,
The development team is interested in it, but I don't believe work has started or that they have decided exactly when to do it. I am hoping for it as well. -
