Multiple buildings per project
Since the multiple floors feature was added, it would be nice to layer them in groups (buildings).

I'd like to be able to add buildings into a 'campus' - the ability to add a google map or something and then place buildings in a campus on the outdoor map. -

Jussi Kiviniemi AdminHi Saul, good point. Fairly typically, our users seem to use "one building, one project" type of a grouping.
For grouping / organizing projects, we'll publish a project foldering system very soon.
Is there a specific reason or several you'd like to include several buildings into one project, rather than just making one project for each building? -

Saul SutherlandNo reason at all! If project folders are coming, I think that is a better way of handling this situation. I will copy my existing project to breakout the buildings for now. Thanks!

Joel Crane System"support multiple buildings per project" (suggested by Mark Hettleman on 2023-06-12), including upvotes (1) and comments (0), was merged into this suggestion.

Jussi KiviniemiHi Mark, is there a specific use case for this that you have in mind? Thanks :)

John TaylorI would also very much like the ability to have multiple buildings per project. Right now it's one building per project which fits most use cases but for example I currently have a customer who has a multi-building campus they want a predictive survey done on. Currently I'll have to have 5 different reports to run and export to them. It would be nice to have this all under 1 report since all 5 buildings are part of the same wireless refresh project. This way the customer doesn't have to keep track of multiple files/links and can show their boss 1 file for approval.

Christoph SemmelmannSame here as John. It can get confusing for the customer if you send them five Reports for the same Design/Refresh. Multiple buildings per project would be a great addition.

Luc PendicSame here, I have clients who have multiple buildings : Chemical production, campus (student but not only), research facilities, nuclear plants...
For instance, I have a client who is the national public school of Officers Firemans in France, it's 10 buildings (7 hotels, 1 huge campus, 1 Restaurant, 1 Gymnase) + Outdoors. They have another site 10km from the main one with also 6 other buildings + Outdoors.
Would be great to be able to make multiple buildings especially for coverage propagation features and reporting layout adaptation.
Thanks! -

Julian KingI'd like to add to this.
A campus of small warehouses or production facilities. It's the same common location, done at the same time, part of the same project.
I'm currently working on a project for 5 separate buildings located on a 10 acre lot. -

Jussi Kiviniemi AdminSounds like a lot of "all is reported on the same go", or "all are a part of the same project".
Since we already have project folders in place: What if you could send a customer a link to not just a project, but also a project folder? You'd still design "one project, one buildign", but customer would receive just one link which would take them to a "report of reports" web page where they could go view each of the reports individually - either as PDF or as online reports? Just a thought. -

MatthewFor us we may have one project that covers 900+ retail sites. Right now, if we put them under one project there is no way to make a BOM for each site it just adds them all together.

Joel Crane AdminThanks for the comment, Matthew! For what it's worth, we don't recommend putting more than one site in a project. But, we understand that there are some corner cases where you might have to do that, due to other limitations in Hamina.

Joshua LeeFor some campus-style sites, having all buildings in one project would be very useful. Quite often, those sites need a single project scope and single cost analysis. If multiple buildings are part of one physical area, that would be a time when this feature is helpful instead of having to navigate between multiple files constantly.

Willem FieggenI have had multiple projects with warehouses with offices attached. An office typically has a wall height of 2.5 meters, warehouses can be around 15 meters. A project with multiple buildings would allow me to report once, instead of twice. By the way, we typically report using pdf's, not project links ;-)

Kjetil Teigen HansenI need it, like right now. Got a building now where they share Floor1, and Parking 00, 01, 02, but they get into separate buildings A and B from floor 2-6. Need two buildings in this map, instead of two projects.

WDI have to model Golf Tournaments and other temporary events where we can have 3 and even 4 story temporary tent like structures. I currently have to model them all on the same map... then model each upper floor on a massive overlay map... but I have to drop the resolution to meet the size requirements. It'd be awesome if I only had to drop resolution on the main base layer map and then I could stack individual floors in the appropriate areas of the map at a decent resolution.

Lauri LaanenurmNothing special,
My first AP-on-Stick site survey 8 years ago consisted of 8 buildings and the final report was 97 pages long. It had only the data which was ordered by the contract and was custom made...
Did not use Ekahau automatic report because that would have been over 500 pages and mostly unneeded data..
