Varied ceiling heights in the floor plan
Some buildings have multiple ceiling heights, and in some of these, the ceilings can range from 8' to 16' in the same floor plan.
in the example i ran into today, a single corridor in a school had three different ceiling heights along its length, apparently the school expanded several times over the decades.
i worked around this by setting the ceiling height to the highest value for the entire floor plan, and then setting the AP height appropriately for each area, but the customer noticed when playing with the 3D view of the project and made the suggestion to support multiple ceiling heights for proper presentation.

There are two tools that facilitate this in Hamina right now:
1. AP Height - You can set the height of the AP to whatever you want. In most carpeted spaces like offices, schools where the attenuation of the ceiling, this is enough.
2. Attenuating Objects - If you need to model ceilings other than the ceiling height set in the building model, then Attenuating Objects will handle this. Set the lower height and upper height, enable Transparent in 3D, and then draw the attenuating objects over the areas with lower ceilings. Then, set the AP height just below those ceilings.

Joel Crane AdminThanks for the feature request! Setting the APs to different heights is exactly how we recommend handling this. Since the 3D view doesn't currently show the ceiling, and you can define the AP height, is there some remaining task that you can't do with the way it works right now?

Jeff DziedzicThink of a multi-height warehouse building. If you set it at the highest height and then you put an AP near where the height changes, it won't calculate the attenuation going from the higher ceiling to the lower. The height changes from 30' to 45' in the middle of the building. An AP placed on the 45' part would potentially create a shadow to the 30' part.
