Cisco URWB
Request to have ability to simulate Cisco URWB backhaul links and see link specific information such as coverage, interference and data rates, etc. This would ease up doing planning for wireless backhaul links with Wi-Fi planning simultaneously under the same tool.

Great idea. How should this work in your view JP? Key use cases, typical scenarios where CURWB is deployed? What would be the key features needed that are missing? How would the functionality look like? -

KooPeeThe typical use case looks like this:
- mill site - high postion (over + 30 m) cameras or IoT devices (skf inertia/ speed sensors/ temperature) need connectivity to LAN
- energy usecase: needed connectivity for cameras & IoT devices in high voltage areas or city centers with several small positions
- Temporary/container village connection to the industrial area LAN
- inditify CURWB trafic ( just like traditional WLAN trafic)
- utilized ch / bw/ RSSI/ SNR
- plan CURWB just like normal WLAN
- Mesh End/ Mesh Point
- most of the ap's are the same as in CIsco ENT AP's
- many antenna possibilities
- predict CURWB RF coverage area etc.
- ch planning
- analyze CURWB network just like normal WLAN -

Jeremy BakerI think at the least make sure the IW line of Cisco radios is fully implemented. The IW9165D has a built in directional and a second external antenna set. Would be nice to be able to model these. Even if it is just adding the equivalent directional standalone antenna.

Joel Crane AdminJeremy, agree on the IW9165D. I've got that one in the AP/antenna backlog to add, but it needs development time to add mixing internal and external antennas on the same AP and unfortunately, I haven't been able to get that prioritized with product management. Hopefully it gets picked up and added soon.
